Dubai content shoot rules every creator should know
Dubai content shoot rules come down to this: shoot on private property with owner consent, treat public places as permit territory, dress and behave modestly in public, and keep all content non explicit, because explicit content is not allowed anywhere in the UAE.
This guide is general information, not legal advice. Local law and the listing rules always come first.
The basics in one place
| Topic | What to plan for |
|---|---|
| Private villas and penthouses | Owner consent in writing, house rules, allowed shoot types |
| Yachts | Operator consent and captain instructions, licensed boats only |
| Public places | Commercial filming usually needs a permit, and many venues have their own rules |
| Explicit content | Not allowed in the UAE, on any FansLuxury listing there |
| Public conduct | Modest dress and behavior in public, respect for privacy |
| People in frame | Do not film strangers without consent |
| Drones | Separate permissions apply, plan without them unless cleared |
Why the rules are stricter than Miami or Los Angeles
The UAE has strict laws on public decency, privacy and online content, and they apply to residents and visitors alike. Penalties can be serious. Creators who shoot carefully do great work in Dubai, because the locations are spectacular: skyline penthouses, Palm Jumeirah villas, desert camps and yachts off Dubai Marina.
Private property is where most shoots happen
On private property, the owner or operator decides what is allowed, inside the law. On FansLuxury, Dubai listings show their allowed shoot types up front. Typical choices are Lifestyle and Swimwear, sometimes Lingerie or Implied in private interiors. Explicit is never available in Dubai.
| Dubai listing | From |
|---|---|
| Palm Jumeirah villa | $500/hour |
| Downtown skyline penthouse | $300/hour |
| 100 ft yacht from Dubai Marina | $1,100/hour, 3 hour minimum |
| Lamborghini Urus | $260/hour |
| Desert camp sunset set | $350/hour |
What owner consent covers
Consent should name the shoot type, the people on set, the hours and the areas you can use. FansLuxury owners sign shoot rules before a listing goes live, and bookings outside the allowed type are refused. Every person on set verifies with an ID document and a selfie. Read the creator shoot rules.
Public places and permits
Beaches, malls, landmarks, hotel lobbies and streets are not private sets. Commercial filming in public places usually needs a permit, and private venues like malls and hotels set their own rules on top. Our approach is simple:
- keep public scenes short, Lifestyle only, and fully dressed for the setting;
- avoid filming other people, especially families and children;
- move anything that is not street wear to a private villa or yacht;
- skip drones unless you have the right clearance.
Yachts and the desert
On a yacht, the operator and captain set the rules on deck, and the boat must stay within permitted areas. Swimwear on a private charter is normal; keep everything else inside the listing rules. The desert camp sunset set is a private set for Lifestyle and fashion looks, with golden hour light that is hard to beat.
Conduct that keeps a Dubai trip smooth
- Dress modestly when moving between locations: a cover up over swimwear, a robe between sets.
- Keep behind the scenes clips free of public scenes that show strangers.
- Do not post location tags that reveal private addresses.
- Store content in your private delivery folder, not on shared devices.
- Plan explicit content for other cities and other listings where the owner opted in, never the UAE.
Planning a weekend
The Dubai Creator Weekend package bundles a villa, a yacht, a photographer and makeup, with 50 edited clips. It is included once a quarter on Elite, and Creator Club members can book it at member rates. FansLuxury Travel can plan the trip around it.
Crew and delivery in Dubai
FansLuxury crews in Dubai include photographers, videographers and hair and makeup artists who know local rules. They work under NDA, and they will stop a scene that breaks the listing rules or local law. Delivery works the same as in any city: standard delivery seven days after the shoot, 72 hours on Elite, into your private delivery folder. For costs in other cities, see the Miami content shoot cost guide.
Best time of year and day to shoot in Dubai
Dubai summers are very hot, and midday light is hard on skin and on crew. Most creators plan Dubai shoots between October and April, when terraces, pools and decks are comfortable for hours. Inside a day, shoot interiors around midday and keep exteriors for early morning and the last two hours before sunset. Yacht blocks look best late afternoon, when the skyline turns gold and the water calms down.
How long to plan for
A Dubai weekend usually runs two or three shoot days. Day one is a villa or penthouse, day two is the yacht and a car block, and an optional day three is the desert camp at sunset. Leave arrival day free, so jet lag does not show on camera.
Questions
Can I shoot explicit content in Dubai?
No. Explicit content is not allowed in the UAE, and no FansLuxury listing in Dubai offers it.
Can I shoot swimwear content in Dubai?
Yes, on private property and private yacht charters where the listing allows Swimwear. In public, follow the dress rules of the beach or venue.
Do I need a permit for a villa shoot in Dubai?
Private property needs the owner's consent, which the listing documents. Public places usually require a permit for commercial filming.
Is it safe to post Dubai content on fan platforms?
Keep it within the listing's allowed types and local law, avoid revealing private addresses and do not include people who did not consent.
